A Message From Mrs. Baldwin

For as long as I can remember, my dream has always been to have my own school. I started my career in education as a math teacher, which is a true passion for me. Along the way, however, I found myself making mental notes of what I would do or wouldn’t do in my own school. I completed my degrees needed to become a principal but it was my mom who pushed me to go for my dream. One evening, as I was sitting down to have dinner with my family, I made the comment, “When I have my own school, I am going to do that differently.” It’s a dream come true for me every day that I am allowed to come to school to teach your children and work with an incredible team that I consider my friends. Every week, I am solving problems and sharing new joys. Every semester I tweak and try to perfect the class schedule, add and supplement the curriculum. Every year, I am amazed at how fast the school year has gone and I close the graduation ceremony with this line, “Don’t be afraid to include everyone in on your dream. I did, and I got all of you in the process.” If you are looking for a typical school or typical school administrator, Baldwin Prep School is not for you. These children are everything to me and we do everything to see them succeed. I am frustrated when I see them frustrated. I am thrilled for them as they run up to me to show off a newly lost tooth, their learner’s permit or a photo of their prom dress. I sob when I see them graduate. There is an energy here at Baldwin Prep that simply does not exist in other schools. I am overjoyed to say that I had a hand in creating it!
