At Baldwin Prep, we are a family.
Days are full at BPS. Energy spills into the halls. Together with teachers and staff, BPS students create a joyful place for learning.
How Is Baldwin Prep School Different?
Class Size
We believe that 12 is the magic number for class size. Students in grades K-12 flourish in a small group environment that caters to curious minds. Every class is limited to 12 students each to enhance learning and self-esteem.
- Students are comfortable in a smaller class ~ they feel free and are more likely to ask questions when they do not understand the material being taught.
- No student gets left behind ~ smaller class sizes help us monitor each student and keep them on task and accountable for their work.
- Friendships are cultivated more easily.
- Open discussion is much more manageable.
- The teachers are much more likely to get involved in messy projects and experiments when the mess is limited to twelve.
- Teachers are in contact with parents each week to help students stay on task. Conferences are available each month to guide and monitor performance.
Curriculum
One-on-one attention and communication is complemented by a curriculum that emphasizes a classical approach to education. It is a gimmick-free, back-to-the-basics method that relies on systematic learning tailored to each stage of development.
- Students in lower grades learn their facts in a fun, inviting atmosphere while the foundation of further study is being established.
- As their capacity for thought matures, students in middle grades work with more complex material to expand their growing ability to reason.
- High school students hone these skills even more by learning to communicate with force and originality on a wide range of subjects.
- This proven method of education is all designed with one goal in mind: to help our students become scholars of life prepared to enter the best colleges in the country and conquer the future with grace and dignity.
