A Visitor's Viewpoint
It was a pleasure meeting you and getting to know more about Baldwin Prep on our visit yesterday. As I mentioned, I have sensed that my son was drifting away and becoming, for lack of a better description, detached from his own life. After our meeting he was actually excited about Baldwin Prep and emphatically stated "this is the right school". I love the down to earth genuine quality you, your mother and the other teachers display. One of my concerns is the fear of raising a child with no empathy or compassion for other people; one who has a sense of self entitlement and no work ethic. Your school is not pretentious but appears to be all about adventurous learning and new challenges whether it be sewing, cooking, or sign language; and that is exciting for anyone. Success comes through consistent self improvement, i.e., learning and in order to sustain that throughout ones life the individual needs to develop a passion for learning. My son had that spark and it broke my heart to watch it fade in middle school. I am confident in the positive environment at Baldwin Prep we can rekindle that spark and help him reach his full potential.
